ReShade

Advanced post-processing everywhere.

What's Reshade

reshade menu

Crosire developed ReShade, which is a post-processing injector for games and video software that adds features such as ambient occlusion, real depth of field effects, and color correction to enhance your gaming experience. By providing access to frame color and depth information in an automated and generic way, ReShade empowers you to take advantage of a range of tools to improve your game's visual quality. Note that in multiplayer mode, the depth information feature is automatically disabled to prevent unfair exploitation.

Endless Games And Options

The range of options is vast! You can incorporate a variety of features, such as advanced depth-edge-detection-driven SMAA antialiasing, screen space ambient occlusion, depth of field effects, chromatic aberration, dynamic film grain, automatic saturation and color correction, cross processing, multi-pass blurring, and more - the list goes on.

What Language Does Reshade Use?

ReShade FX is a shading language and compiler that is unique to ReShade, and it is based on HLSL with added features that are specifically tailored for developing post-processing effects. With ReShade FX, you can define and use textures directly from the shader code, render to them, change render states, retrieve color and depth data, and even request custom values like timers or key states.

What's more, you only need to write your shaders once, and they will function on any platform, whether it's Direct3D or OpenGL, as ReShade handles compiling them to the correct shader model and language (HLSL, GLSL, or SPIR-V).

ReShade 5.0 also introduced a powerful add-on API, which allows for the creation of add-ons for both ReShade and the games it is used with. To learn more, please refer to the documentation

Reshade is Open Source

Starting from January 1st, 2017, ReShade has become open source and is now governed by the BSD 3-clause license. You are welcome to contribute to the development of ReShade by submitting your own contributions through the official GitHub repository.
